January 6, 2020– Day+109, Ultrasound Results

Hi all,

Thank you so much for your prayers for Bo and his liver. We went in for his ultrasound bright and early at 7:30 this morning and were able to get the results at his clinic appointment at 10am.

Bo’s ultrasound showed some “sludge” in his liver. Although this isn’t ideal, it’s the best case scenario. Thankfully the flow through his liver is great, so VOD recurring isn’t happening—PRAISE GOD! Bo’s doctor was relieved to see this and the med she decided to put him back on last Friday should do the trick. He’ll be on it long term, but it’s safe and effective and we are grateful it exists!

As far as Bo’s transplant goes, his doctor is very happy with where his counts are. His hemoglobin (red blood cells) and platelets continue to be stable and his ANC is fluctuating but stable as well!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayers ❤️

  3. Here is an inspiring story of a young boy who, by the grace of God, beat leukemia.

NEWBURY, Ohio (WJW) – There was a standing ovation inside St. Helen Catholic School in Newbury on Wednesday for a 6-year-old boy who has now won the biggest battle of his young life.
John Oliver Zippay, also known as J.O., received his final round of chemotherapy two days after Christmas, ending a 3-year battle with leukemia.  So Wednesday, his classmates, teachers and family took time out to celebrate.
“He’s doing great! Yeah, he’s feeling better. A lot of his side effects over the years involved his legs from the steroids and he’s doing great,” his father John Zippay said.
But John Oliver’s parents, John and Megan Zippay, say these past three years have been anything but easy.
He was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on November 1, 2016. He spent 18 days in the hospital, followed by several years of chemotherapy.
“He had a meta-port in his chest so he wasn’t able to do any physical activity for three years. So it was hard for him, had to sit back for gym class and things,” his parents said.
